Tyrod Taylor the newly anointed starting quarterback for the Bills in this week’s preseason game did not look like a starting caliber quarterback in today’s scrimmage against the Cleveland Browns. The former Virginia Tech Hokie was sacked five times, completing only one pass in 12 plays, and looked inaccurate on the two other passes he got off. The Browns were aggressive and blitzed heavily throughout the scrimmage, a plus for the Bills quarterbacks who were able to get even more practice times against opponents instead of teammates.

Matt Cassel was easily the most impressive of the Buffalo QB’s, throwing two touchdowns and looking in command of Greg Roman’s offense. EJ Manuel was able to complete some solid throws, but did not take control the way Cassel did.

Third-year wideout Robert Woods was very impressive, routinely beating Browns defensive backs for multiple receptions, including a touchdown pass from Matt Cassel over Browns corner Justin Gilbert. The Bills as an offensive unit were called for one delay of game penalty and three false starts, an expected sign for early on in camp.

The Bills take on these very same Browns on Thursday at 8pm in Cleveland, and you can watch the game Nationally on ESPN.
