Winner: Demetrious Johnson via Unanimous Decision

After that co-main event everyone was in need of some eye bleach. Johnson and Dodson flew around the ring at a breakneck pace. Demetrius Johnson just outclassed Dodson in every aspect of the game, save takedown defense. Johnson used perfect footwork to cut off the angles of escape and tee off on Dodson. Even when he found himself pressed against the cage Johnson found a way to mount an attack with short elbows and punches. Demetrius even found his wrestling game in the later rounds, landing some heavy slams. The man is just too good. What’s next for Demetrius Johnson? Who knows but he’s going to dominate it using that un-telegraphed right hand and just balanced attack game. He makes great fighters look bad, and he’s already beat 5 of the top 10 in the division. Could he have to move up a weight class to find a challenge?

Winner: Andrei Arlovski via unanimous decision

Two old veterans fight exactly how you expect two aging heavyweight to fight. In a rather dull exchange Arlovski walks away with a controversial decision. I truly hope this fight doesn’t have title implications because neither Arlovski nor Mir belong in the same cage as the top fighters in the division. Werdum, Velasquez, Dos Santos, Mirotic, would all have a field day against these guys. They shouldn’t be in the title picture and they shouldn’t be a co-main event.

Winner: Anthony Johnson via 2nd round KO/TKO

In a clash of two stand up monsters, Anthony Rumble Johnson continues to show why he’s the scariest striker in the light heavyweight division. Manuwa and Johnson clashed in the opening seconds of the fight then Rumble did the unexpected and shot for a take down. He timed it beautifully and slammed Manuwa down. He spent the rest of the first working on the ground with strikes and a nice arm triangle attempt. The second round opened up like every round does, on the feet. Rumble landed a heavy right hand that rattled Manuwa, then followed it with two heavy punches on the ground. Manuwa was out cold before he hit the ground. Rumble continues to do what he does best, knock people out. I see Rumble in need of another win in order to secure a shot at the title, simply because he’s already fought Cormier and Gustafsson. Manuwa will have to work his way back up, maybe put him up against St. Peroux who’s also coming off a loss.

Winner: Corey Anderson via Unanimous Decision

Jan Blachowics faced the Beasting 25/8 of Corey Anderson. After a first round that saw Blachowics almost lock in a deep Armbar, Corey Anderson came back and just steamrolled Blachowics for the next two rounds. Anderson smothered Blachowics, pressured him until he took him down and just landed repeatedly with heavy hands and solid elbows. While Blachowics faded after the first round Anderson displayed an impressive gas tank especially with the pace he kept. Corey Anderson moves up the light heavyweight ladder, and the division needs more talent like him.

Winner: Paige VanZant via Armbar in the 3rd

Paige VanZant controlled the fight from the get go. She kept the pressure up and didn’t let Chambers breathe for a second. VanZant used her punching to close the distance then clinch and deliver knees and elbows all day. The only offense Chambers mounted was a few pop shots in-between Paige’s relentless pursuit. VanZant put Chambers into deep trouble in the second but couldn’t finish the fight. In the third VanZant continued mauling the helpless Chambers, where she took the fight to the ground, tried to secure a choke but switched to ground and pound and found an opening to slap on a beautiful armbar. Joe Rogan summed up VanZant’s performance: relentless.
