BREAKING NEWS!!!

The wait is finally over Batman fans! Warner Bros. has officially announced today at CinemaCon that Ben Affleck (Batman) will not only star in the next standalone Batman film but he will also be the director. The movie is set to film within the next 5 years.  WB’s very own CEO Kevin Tsujihara himself opened the Warner Bros. panel today at CinemaCon and confirmed the news. Justice League is currently filming in London so the cast could not be there for comment. It was reported weeks ago that Affleck and Geoff Johns were working on a project together. It seems now that the project they were working on is in fact the standalone Batman film.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has not been the best reviewed film of the year but even critics who disliked the movie all agreed that Ben Affleck was incredible as The Dark Knight.  There were recently slots opened on WB’s schedule in 2018 which many assumed would be filled with the solo Batman film. Nothing about the film had even been confirmed until today yet no date of release has been announced. Currently Ben Affleck is preparing for Justice League and is finishing up another movie, Live By Night, which Ben also is directing.

So how do you feel about this news? Are you excited to see a directed Batman movie by Ben Affleck? We should be getting more news during the annual Warner Bros. panel at ComicCon this year. Until then stay tuned to MFST for all your Marvel/DC news.
