WATCH: New Injustice 2 Trailer
Injustice 2 Trailer
The long-awaited new trailer for Injustice 2 was just released on the official Injustice 2 twitter page and YouTube channel and social media has been buzzing since then. Rumors have been swirling about multiple DC Comic characters joining the roster in the video game sequel, if you will, after new characters like Supergirl, Gorilla Grodd, Blue Beetle, Deadshot, and were revealed in the game’s first few trailers that was released last year. In the newest Injustice 2 trailer, it focuses on the main characters of the story: Superman, Batman, and Supergirl. The story the trailer taps into the blurry lines between good and evil and how you can change after one action. It shows what action causes a shift in the main characters; that being Superman losing Lois and his unborn child, Supergirl watching her home, Krypton, being destroyed, and Batman, whose story is a little unclear but from the looks of the trailer, he seems to be becoming like the big brother of Gotham City. The story is told with a very dark tone that is very reminiscent of the Batman v. Superman movie which makes sense given that the battle between Superman’s army and Batman’s resistance rages on in Year 2 of the Injustice comic book series. As great as that is, near the end of the trailer, Braniac is revealed to be the overall big bad of the entirety of the story.
The visual effects in the trailer is seemingly simple but effective. The game introduces a multitude of new characters which includes Blue Beetle, Supergirl, Poison Ivy, Brainiac, Gorrilla Grodd, Atrocitus, Dark Seid (if you pre-order the game), as well as others that I may not have noticed as well as ones that have not been revealed as of now. The game is officially released on May 16th, 2017.
