Week 10 waiver wire pickups
Week 10 is right around the corner so it is time to look at some of the players who should be added to fantasy teams this week.
Cecil Shorts III
Shorts III has been injured for three of the past four weeks, but looks like he might return this week. Before the injury Shorts III had a nice role in the Texans offense. In the five games he’s played, he has 26 catches for 299 yards and a touchdown. When Shorts III returns, he should have an opportunity to once again have a good role in the offense.
The Patriots lost running back Dion Lewis for the season last week and going forward there is an opportunity for someone to step up and take that production. James White should be one of those players who gets the opportunity. White is a former 3rd round pick by the team who came in to the preseason as an option to replace Shane Vereen as the pass catching back for the Patriots. Lewis, however, won the job. If White is given the chance to take over that role, he should be a nice option for the coming weeks.
Bolden is another guy who could fill in for Dion Lewis in New England. Bolden plays a lot on special teams, but last week with James White inactive Bolden came in and played after Lewis’ injury. Although the sample size was small, Bolden did contribute with one rush for 12 yards and 3 catches for 27 yards and a touchdown. If James White doesn’t get the job as the pass catching running back, Bolden would be another option.
The rookie wide receiver had his best game this past weekend. He had 3 catches for 71 yards and a touchdown. Although he may not be getting a ton of targets, the fact that he found the end zone and was able to capitalize on three of his four targets should give people hope that he can be productive going forward.
