Week 13 waiver wire pickups
Week 13 is coming up quick so it is time to look at some players who should be added this week.
This past Sunday, Rob Gronkowski suffered a minor knee injury that might keep him out a few weeks. This creates an opportunity for Chandler to step into the number one tight end role for one of the best offenses in the NFL. Chandler has been inconsistent this year, but with the increase in opportunities, he should be a pretty good option at tight end for the next couple weeks.
Last Sunday, the Cardinals lost both Chris Johnson and Andre Ellington to injury. In their absence, David Johnson came in and had his most carries of the year, albeit only eight. He did, however, score a touchdown, and if one or both are unable to play this Sunday, Johnson will be in a great position to get an expanded role in the offense.
Since Carlos Hyde went down with a foot injury, Draughn has stepped in and been the best running back on the team. Since week 9 he has had at least 12 carries and 4 catches in each game. Although Draughn has not scored a touchdown this year, he has been productive the last three games and as long as Hyde remains out, he should continue to have plenty of opportunities for the 49ers.
Baldwin was great this past weekend with 6 catches for 145 yards and 3 touchdowns. The past three weeks, he has had at least 6 catches for over 60 yards, including another game of over 100 yards receiving. It is very apparent that Baldwin is a big part of the Seahawks offense and, with the Jimmy Graham injury, Baldwin’s opportunities could increase.
