QB: Ryan Fitzpatrick – $5400 Steal of the Week

Coming off of two stellar fantasy football performances on Draft Kings (28.8 and 29.2) Fitzmagic presents an incredible value at $5400 and is the steal of the week. Playing at home, Fitzpatrick and the Jets get a Titans defense that ranks 26th against opposing QBs in Draft Kings scoring. This is a very vulnerable Tennessee defense, who gave up TONS of points against Blake Bortles and the Jaguars last week (if you started Bortles or Allen Robinson, you probably won some cash). The Jets are similar to the Jags in that, when things are clicking on offense, they pour on buckets of points. Starting guys like Bortles or Fitzpatrick comes with uneasiness in knowing that they can significantly underperform for no discernible reason. However, at this cost, a big game from Fitzpatrick can immediately vault you into the money standings.

Honorable Mentions: Blake Bortles $6000, Brock Osweiler $5200

RB: T.J Yeldon – $4900

The recent news of Mark Ingram’s season ending injury made me strongly consider CJ Spiller in this spot, but its so hard to anticipate what the Saints will do with their backfield without Ingram. With that in mind, I turned my attention to Yeldon, who put together his most complete game of the season last week against the Titans. Hey Jacksonville, see what happens when you give your talented rookie running back some goal line carries? He scores touchdowns!!! Can you tell that I have Yeldon on my season-long fantasy team? Rants aside, Yeldon gets another tasty matchup at home this week against the Colts 22nd ranked defense against the run. This, combined with Yeldon’s ability to get additional points with receptions, makes him a good value at sub-$5000.

Honorable Mentions: CJ Spiller $3000, Shaun Draughn $4800

WR: Travis Benjamin – $5000

This is undoubtedly a risky call but, if Benjamin is healthy, there are a couple of factors going in his favor that may suggest big-game potential. First, he gets a 49ers defense that has struggled against opposing wide receivers and has been particularly vulnerable in general when not playing at home. This, combined with the fact that Johnny Manziel will be starting for the rest of the season suggests that Benjamin could find real success. The Browns have stated openly that they want to see what they have in Johnny, which hopefully means that they will let him go crazy like he’s at one of his frat parties. Broken-play scrambling and slinging it downfield Johnny likely looks towards Benjamin for some big plays, and I like their chances of connecting on a couple against San Francisco.

Honorable Mentions: Sammy Watkins $6100, Marvin Jones $4200

TE: Scott Chandler – $3800

There isn’t much that I can add to the conversation about Chandler that hasn’t either been said last week or can be found somewhere this week. As one of the few passing targets left for Tom Brady on a depleted offense, Chandler is in line to get his share of goal line looks like he did last weekend. Its definitely not the most incredible matchup against a Texans team that has defended the tight end very well this season, but its hard not to see him finding the end zone at least once with Brady throwing him the ball.

Honorable Mentions: Jacob Tamme $3400, Julius Thomas $4200

DST: Chiefs – $3200

We’ve gotten to a point in the season where it is very easy to find value for defenses given the right matchup. We know what defenses are good and we know what offenses are bad. When these two things converge like they do on Sunday in Kansas City, it makes a lot of sense to take advantage of it. The red hot Chiefs get a Chargers offense that is completely devoid of talent. Quarterback Philip Rivers is trying his best to piece together the tattered remains of his receiving corps, but this sometimes leads to him forcing passes. The Chiefs have done a great job of generating turnovers during their current hot streak so expect this to continue on Sunday.

Honorable Mentions: Jets $3200, Lions $2700
