QB: Blake Bortles – $6500

Interesting week for quarterbacks, as no one is particularly expensive. Honestly, you can pretty much go with whoever you have a good feeling about to build your team around. That being said, I will likely have Bortles in a couple of lineups come Sunday. He has the best matchup of the week going up against the Saints and has shown that he is plenty capable of having crazy games. Bortles throws the ball so much that his floor is extremely high even if he has a bad game. Add in the fact that he can move the ball a little with his feet and it’s unlikely that Bortles won’t return value at his cost. Last week is a perfect example of this, as he only threw for one touchdown while running for another with an interception. When all was said and done, Bortles finished with 25 Draft Kings points, plenty to keep you afloat in any lineup. Dial him up this week against the Saints and hope for him to explode.

Honorable Mentions: T. Bridgewater $5200, A. Smith $5100

RB: Tim Hightower – $4500

As I was building my lineups, I found that I was grabbing a lot of guys from the Jaguars and Saints game this weekend. I imagine that plenty of points will be scored in this one, so I plan on sprinkling in as many pieces from this game as I can. Hightower has proven that he has the trust of the Saints coaching staff, as he gets almost all of the carries that are available, particularly those that are on the goal line. He is most definitely not a “sexy” option, but with the amount of work that he will certainly get in a favorable matchup, Hightower is definitely worth a spot in most of your lineups at his current cost.

WR: Kamar Aiken – $5400 Steal of the Week

In games without Steve Smith, Kamar Aiken has been an absolute stud when it comes to PPR scoring, the scoring method for Draft Kings. In the past five weeks, Aiken has hit double-digit targets three times. This week, he has the best matchup of the week, going up against a Pittsburgh defense that ranks last against opposing wide receivers. The Steelers are likely going to score on almost every position against an equally terrible Baltimore pass defense, so the Ravens are going to have to throw quite a bit to keep themselves even partially in the game. Obviously, Aiken has the issue of Jimmy Clausen to deal with, who might literally be the worst quarterback playing on Sunday. This, combined with the fact that Aiken’s lofty numbers from last week are largely due to a hail mary pass, make the criticisms for Aiken very valid. However, his price, talent, and matchup make him too appealing to pass up, making him the steal of the week.

Honorable Mentions: M. Bryant $5600, J. Brown $5300

TE: Julius Thomas – $5100

Last week, I sort of chose Julius Thomas out of necessity, as I had to choose sometime to fill the tight end section. This time around, however, I pick Thomas with a lot more conviction. In my opinion, Thomas has overtaken Allen Hurns as the number two receiving option for quarterback Blake Bortles, a player whose praises I’ve already sung earlier in this article. The Jaguars passing attack is something that I want many pieces of this weekend, and I feel like a Thomas and Bortles stack presents the best opportunity for the maximum amount of points. Plus, Thomas gets to go up against the Saints, who have proven time and time again that they are susceptible to opposing tight ends.

Honorable Mentions: R. Rodgers $4000, Z. Miller $4000

DST: Texans – $2800

The Texans defense is kind of an anomaly. On one hand, they always have the potential to score a lot of points due to the tenacious nature of their pass rush. Common sense football fact: when you pressure the quarterback, you generate turnovers, and turnovers lead to fantasy points. However, this defense is also capable of putting up duds as well, scoring zero points a few weeks ago against an only slightly above average Bills offense. But there is one great variable in the equation this week, and his name is Zach Mettenberger. Mettenberger likes to sling the football, and I have a feeling a lot of those will be going to the Texans secondary. Expect JJ Watt to have a field day.

Honorable Mentions: Bills $3200, Lions $2800
