Week 16 is here and football season is almost over. I can’t believe it, but the season is ending after seeming like it just started! Things are really getting exciting, and we have division battles coming up. The NFC is almost locked up with teams like (Dallas, Seattle, Atlanta, Giants) holding secured spots in the playoffs. Some teams are right on the bubble or fighting with a division foe to get in (Redskins, Vikings, Lions, Packers, Buccaneers).

In the AFC, you have the secured teams (Patriots, Raiders, Chiefs) already with playoff spots. The Wildcard is a straight dog fight (Dolphins, Bills, Ravens, Steelers, Broncos, Titans, Colts, Texans) all with chances to either win their division or earn a Wildcard berth. Anything can happen and there are so many different scenarios that can play out. I’m going to give you my predictions who might get upset this week.

Week 16 Upset Alert

Detroit at Dallas

Week 16 Upset alert
(USA TODAY Sports)

This is a big game for the Lions. A win against the Cowboys and a loss by the Packers could give them the NFC North championship. It won’t definitely be easy because the Cowboys are not a fluke. This is a scary balanced, young team with two rookies playing good football. The Cowboys won’t give them this game because the Giants could catch their record and end up as division champs (Giants defeated Cowboys two times). With the Giants loss last night to the Eagles, the Cowboys already locked-up the #1 seed and they’ll have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Matthew Stafford and his team played bad against the Giants, but they’ll be ready for a big date with Dallas.

Prediction: Detroit 27 Dallas 23

Tampa Bay at New Orleans

Can Jameis Winston carry the hot Bucs to the playoffs? They still have a chance, but they have a scary matchup with Drew Brees and company. The Saints put up 48 points on the Cardinals Sunday showing that they still have a dangerous offense. Tampa Bay defense may limit Drew Brees a little, but I think they can win this game. Two hot teams going against each other with a lot on the line for Tampa Bay. Tampa will show heart like they always do, but I like New Orleans to pull off the upset.

Prediction: Saints 28 Tampa 20

Miami at Buffalo

The Dolphins have been on a roll, but have a clutch matchup with the Bills this weekend. Ryan Tannehill is out, and it’s up to Matt Moore to keep the Dolphins playoffs alive. Can the Dolphins stop red-hot LeSean McCoy in Buffalo? He’s been unstoppable and looks to have another big day against division rival. The Dolphins haven’t won in Buffalo since 2011 and guess who the starter was???? Matt Moore. They can end the streak with him in 2016 but I don’t think it’ll happen.

Prediction: Buffalo 20 Miami 14
