QB: Eli Manning – $5600 Steal of the Week

There is a lot to like in Eli this week going up against Philadelphia’s bottom five passing defense. First, he gets O’Dell back from his one game suspension. I imagine that Beckham feels like he has something to prove after having to sit last week and watch his team get bounced from playoff contention. If Beckham explodes, that means good things for Eli, who has proven plenty capable of putting up big numbers at times. Particularly, these big games tend to come after dud performances (10 points last week against the Vikings) and I don’t see the Eagles being capable of stopping him from doing so. Plus, the Eagles just had to deal with a week in which their head coach was fired so I don’t expect them to be ready for a meaningless matchup. Eli’s the steal of the week, as no one presents better value.

Honorable Mentions: R. Fitzpatrick $5400, S. Bradford $5300

RB: James White – $5000

Nothing too exciting from the running back position this week, but I like White’s potential to go off. White has clearly established himself as the pass catching back in New England, and I expect him to get a lot of looks against the Dolphins second worst running defense. Amendola and Edelman will likely sit again this week, and the Patriots have something to play for against Miami. Hope for White to break a couple big screens and he will certainly be worth his $5000 price tag.

WR: Dorial Green-Beckham $3800

I was seriously tempted to make DGB my steal this week, but it’s hard to do that after he put up a goose egg last week against the Texans. However, that performance also lowered his cost to below $4000, making him a hard option to resist as a value pick. Before his dud last week, Beckham was performing rather well, getting the bulk of the targets from whoever was playing quarterback for the Titans. When you spend this little at receiver, you really are throwing darts. There is no better dart throw at receiver this week, so don’t be surprised if DGB goes off against a bad Colts secondary.

Honorable Mentions: S. Diggs $4600, T. Benjamin $4100

TE: Zach Miller – $4600

As with most tight ends, Miller’s value lies with hoping that he finds the end zone. With that said, he gets a surprising amount of targets for his position, getting six or more in four of his last five outings. This gives him a very solid floor to work with, making him a very low risk option at his price. I’d say that he finds the end zone too, especially against a Lions team that struggles against tight ends.

Honorable Mentions: B. Watson $4600, W. Tye $4000

DST: Bengals – $3300

I’ve spoken on my preference for the Bengals defense before, so I won’t go on too long. All of the reasons for liking them before still apply: needing to step up their play to compensate for an inexperienced QB, and playing in a very important game. This week, a win gives the Bengals a chance at a bye week in the playoffs. Expect them to step up to the plate against Ryan Mallett and the Ravens.

Honorable Mentions: Texans $3300, Lions $3100
