Week 4 waiver wire pickups
Week 4 is right around the corner so let’s look at some of the players who should be picked up this week.
The Cowboys have had to rely on other players with both Tony Romo and Dez Bryant out. Lance Dunbar has really stepped up for the team as a receiver as he is tied for first in catches so far this year with tight end Jason Witten. Through three games Dunbar has 21 catches for 210 yards. He may not have found the end zone yet, but he has really found a role in the offense and after a 10 catch, 100 yard performance on Sunday, it is apparent that he should be a staple of the Cowboys offense going forward.
Williams has had a great start to the year for Buffalo and although he is the backup to LeSean McCoy, he has had three productive games to start the year. In all three games he has scored a touchdown with last week being his best outing with 12 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown. Over the past day or so, reports have indicated that the Bills may sit McCoy to rest his hamstring. If the team decides to do this, then Williams should be in line for a much larger role in the Bills offense.
This offseason the Dolphins added wideouts Kenny Stills and Greg Jennings in addition to drafting DeVante Parker. Through three games, however, it has been fourth year wideout Rishard Matthews who has really impressed. Matthews has 16 catches, 262 yards, and three touchdowns so far including 6 catches for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns on Sunday. Matthews seems to have carved himself quite a role in the Dolphins offense and should be added this week.
Ted Ginn Jr.
The Panthers wide receiver position has been interesting to watch so far with Kelvin Benjamin out for the year. Greg Olsen has continued to be a huge part of the Panther offense, but it has been Ted Gin Jr. who has stepped up at wide receiver. Ginn has 10 catches on the year for 188 yards and a touchdown, including a 4 catch, 93 yard performance against the Saints this past Sunday. He either leads or is tied in all three categories among wideouts on the team and after his best game of the year on Sunday, he should continue to have a nice role on the team.
