Week 7 NFL Picks
Our NFL Picks will be a weekly column, where our writers choose the winner of four games including one which will be an upset pick.
The Picks will be tracked and we will crown a champion at the end of the season. Writer’s Dan Schalk and James Kiblin will pick the games and battle it out this season.
Through 6 weeks of the NFL season Dan is 18-6 and Jim is 11-12-1. Still plenty of time left in the season for Jim to mount a comeback.
Packers over Panthers 38-17
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are on a roll, couple that with the Panthers lack of pass rush—it could be a long day for what once was considered a top defense.
Seahawks over Rams 30-20
Do you really expect Seattle to lose two in a row? I expect Russell Wilson and company to have a field day offensively, and the defense will look to put a beating on young quarterback Austin Davis.
Broncos over 49ers 34-28
I don’t expect Peyton to break Brett Favre’s touchdown record in this game. However, the Broncos offense is too much for a walking wounded 49ers defense. Manning outduels Kaepernick for the non conference win.
Upset Pick of the Week:
Jaguars over Browns 21-17
Eventually the Jaguars will win a game, and I think it will be this week against a very confident Browns team that put a hurting on the Steelers. I am very impressed with the quarterback play from rookie Blake Bortles, and the Jaguars receiving corps is getting healthy at the right time. Jaguars win on a 4th quarter drive from Bortles.
Bills over Vikings 23-13
Tough loss for the 3-3 Bills last week. Terrible officiating, combined with turnovers were the cause of the loss to the Patriots. The Vikings are struggling in all phases, look for the Bills to take advantage and get back in the win column.
Detroit over New Orleans 24-17
New Orleans is not the team we thought they would be this year. The game is in Detroit. The Lions will have a plan to move along without Megatron. Look for the Lions to sneak out this tight battle.
Titans over Redskins 17-10
The Titans have been overlooked all year, but they showed some toughness as a team in their week 6 win against the lowly Jaguars. With all the turmoil in DC, I don’t expect Washington to win this game of sub .500 teams.
Upset of the Week:
Kansas City over San Diego 30-27
Andy Reid coached teams are 13-2 coming off a bye, and this simple fact is why I am picking the Chiefs. Andy Reid will have his boys read to play against a tough Chargers team. Look for the Chiefs to get to Rivers like they did Tom Brady when they played in week 5.
