Joique_Bell_warming_up_before_a_Detroit_Lions_football_game_on_2013-09-29

Joique Bell is a must start in week 8 with the Lions taking on the sputtering Atlanta Falcons in London.  While Bell’s season has yet to live up to expectations, rushing for 274 yards on 84 carries with only three scores, his fantasy football future is bright.

The Falcons have the 27th ranked defense against the run (137.7 yards/game), and have been gashed consistently by running backs all year.  Bell has a firm grasp on the main running back duties in Detroit since returning two weeks ago from a concussion.  He has posted 18 carries in each of the last two games, while the next closest Lion (Bush in week 7, Winn in week 6) have only gotten five carries.  Add in the eight targets in the passing game, Bell is a primary focus in the Lions game plan moving forward.

With guaranteed touches, Bell will thrive in week eight, as the Lions offense will look to refocus on a balanced attack.  The Lions rank 31st in the league in rushing and coach Jim Caldwell has said he will remain “committed” to the run.

With the matchup, and touches coming his way, look for Bell to have a similar game to what Matt Forte had against these same Falcons in week six, putting up 80 yards rushing, 70 yards receiving and two scores.  That may be a bit of a hyperbole, but not out of the question.
