Week 9 Fantasy QB Studs
With the NFL’s week 10 approaching, MFST will take a look at 3 fantasy QB studs who led their teams to victory behind stellar play in week 9.
Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
Week 9 Stats: 28-of-39, 323 Yards, 3 Touchdowns, 0 Interceptions
Drew Brees had another stellar outing, posting his 5th 300+ passing yard game, to go along with three touchdowns against the subpar San Francisco defense. Brees shared the wealth through the air, finding 10 different receivers throughout the game, with Brandin Cooks and Michael Thomas receiving the most catches with 5 each. Brees connected with Thomas twice for a score, and once with Mark Ingram in their 41-23 rout of the 49ers, leading the Saints to their 4th win in 5 games.
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Week 9 Stats: 21-of-27, 247 Yards, 3 Touchdowns; 4 Carries, 20 Yards
With rumors of Tony Romo progressing and practicing 11-on-11, rookie quarterback Dak Prescott impressed in week 9’s matchup against the winless Browns, throwing for 247 yards, three touchdowns and adding 20 yards on the ground. Prescott was once again able to lead the Cowboys to a 35-10 victory for their 7th straight win, and stating his case to remain the Cowboys’ starting quarterback.
Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Week 9 Stats: 25-of-34, 344 Yards, 4 Touchdowns, 0 Interceptions
Matt Ryan bolstered his MVP resume on Thursday Night, putting together another good game as he threw for 344 yards, which marked his 5th 300+ passing yard to go along with four touchdowns. Ryan’s main target was Julio Jones connecting 8 times, one of which went for a 7-yard score in the 43-28 victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Falcons are now 6-3, and boast a dangerous offense that can go up against any defense, behind MVP-candidate Ryan and his league-leading 23 passing touchdowns.
