Week 9 Fantasy RB Studs
With the NFL’s week 10 approaching, MFST will take a look at 3 fantasy RB studs who led their teams to victory behind stellar play in week 9.
Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys
Week 9 stats: 18 Carries, 92 Yards, 2 TD
Rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott continued his stellar play, rushing for 92 yards and finding the end zone twice in part of the Cowboys’ 35-10 win over the Browns. Elliott has lived up to the high expectations after being selected 4th overall, and has proved doubters wrong, as he now has 891 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns on the season for the 7-1 Cowboys.
Melvin Gordon, San Diego Chargers
Week 9 stats: 32 Carries, 196 Yards, 1 Touchdown; 4 Receptions, 65 yards
Melvin Gordon had another monster game, recording his second consecutive 100+ rushing game, carrying the Chargers to a 43-35 victory behind his 261 total yards. Gordon set career high in rushing yards with 196, on 32 carries, and receiving yards with 65 on 4 catches. On the season, Gordon now has 415 rushing yards, and tied with LeGarrette Blount for a league-leading 9 rushing touchdowns.
Latavius Murray, Oakland Raiders
Week 9 stats: 20 Carries, 114 Yards, 3 TD
In a tough battle against arguably the top defense, and where QB Derek Carr struggled to find his groove only passing for 184 yards, Latavius Murray stepped up big in the Raider’s 30-20 win against the Broncos. Murray had a strong first half, rushing for 89 yards, with 2 touchdowns as the Broncos’ defense couldn’t find an answer for Murray as he would later seal the win for his team, with his third score late in the fourth-quarter.
