Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons
Week 9 stats: 8 Receptions, 111 Yards, 1 TD
After catching just 3 passes, for a lowly 29 yards in week 8’s win, Julio Jones showed up to play in Week 9’s Thursday Night showdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their 43-28 win. Jones went on to catch 8 passes, for 111 yards and added a 3 yard score from Matt Ryan in the 3rd quarter. On the season, Jones is the league-leading receiver with 970 yards, as he continues to be Ryan’s favorite weapon.
Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 9 stats: 11 Receptions, 150 Yards, 2 TD
Evans endured a busy day, as he was Winston’s favorite target catching a season-high 11 passes, compared to Adam Humphries and Cameron Brate who were second in caught passes with 5 apiece in the Buccaneers’ 43-28 losing effort to the Falcons. Evans hauled in 2 scores, one in the first quarter for 3 yards and another in the second quarter for 24 yards, to go along with his season-high 150 yards, marking his second game with 100+ receiving yards on the season.
Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints
Week 9 Stats: 5 Receptions, 73 yards, 2 Touchdowns
Speedy rookie Michael Thomas was once again Drew Brees’ main target, as he tied for a game high 5 catches with Brandin Cooks, leading the way in receiving yards with 73, and hauling in 2 touchdowns in the Saints’ convincing 41-23 win. Thomas has been impressive all season, as he now has 5 touchdowns on the season, and only trails Cooks by 23 yards as the team’s leading receiver.
