Weekly DFS Review: Drafters
Our newest DFS game to introduce this week is none other than, Drafters!
Founded in 2016, these Toronto, Ontario natives have changed the game by offering a new spin on DFS. Drafters is unique because they offer yearly, weekly, and daily live snake drafts.
Rather than drafting a team with players that everyone shares, they offer the chance to draft your team live against other competitors to see who finishes on top! Contests are available for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and PGA.
When joining a contest, depending on the size of the room, you will be given a certain amount of time before the room fills. This gives you the chance to change-up your queued players. You can even get a notification straight to your phone as soon as all players have joined you contest. Once the room has filled the draft is live. Players are then ordered into a snake draft format. At that point you will be taking turns picking players for that given contest until your roster is full.
The scoring is similar to other DFS games in which you get a various amount of fantasy points when your player records certain stats. You can also swap your current players for any available players before game time. Once all of the sporting events have ended for that contest, the team with the most fantasy points in your draft wins. There’s no salary cap. No shared players. You draft a team that’s all your own and win.
One of the newest features to Drafters is the auto player swap ability. Sometimes players are game time decisions. Sometimes the ones you draft are a late scratch. On Drafters they have a system in place to prevent this from killing you lineup. If you have a player that is switched to out or their projection is reduced to zero then they are automatically switched out with the next player on your list or the next highest projected available player. This prevents your lineup from being tainted by a last second game status decision.
You can create private games with custom settings. They even have a personalized sports news feed within their web app. You can filter the news that comes across this feed based on your interests. It will also alert you of injuries to key players. This includes the ones on your current rosters which is key for any DFS player.
Buy-ins for rooms are $0.11 all the way up to $215. Drafters offers free-roll contests from time to time and every Friday. A great bonus to players is that they give out memorabilia once in a while such as jerseys, helmets, and sports gear. You are allowed to deposit up to $100 including a 50% first time deposit bonus. You can deposit using a credit card or Paypal. To withdraw you must have $20 minimum available balance and your funds can be sent by Paypal, Check, or a money transfer via email for Canadian players. As a referral bonus, any friends that sign up, you get $5 in bonus cash and they get a 75% bonus on their first deposit.
Good luck DFS lovers.
