What in the world is going through LeBron’s mind???
Not a way the to start the year, well if you’re LeBron James or anybody associated with the Cleveland Cavaliers. 2017 has been a roller coaster ride to say the least, and frustrations are starting to grow day by day for the defending champs. For the past week we’ve heard LeBron James “cry” saying to the media talking about how he needs a superstar on the roster, and pleading for somebody to step up on the roster. And for the record I’m a huge LeBron James fan. I personally think when it’s all set and done he’s going to go down as one of the top 10 players in NBA history, and one of the players who stood out the most in the 21st century, but this has to stop!
I get LeBron is upset and rightfully so, they’ve lost 4 of their last 6 games, and the teams they’ve been losing to besides the Spurs all have losing records. The Pelicans managed to escape with a 2-point victory, the Kings were able to run away with a 4-point victory, and just recently they got blown out by the struggling Mavericks. Instead of being this new mature LeBron James keeping his young team cool and calm with his leadership skills, he’s turned back the clock a bit and has become the LeBron James people hated back in 2011 when he was in Miami. Blaming everybody, but himself.
In all fairness LeBron could use some help right now, but keep in mind were still in January, there’s no time for a meltdown, but when Charles Barkley criticized LeBron James for being to “whiny” to the media, it just set James off. On Monday night after losing to Dallas, LeBron took off the gloves and got way to personal in my opinion when it came to firing back at Sir Charles. “Screw Charles Barkley. I’m tired of biting my tongue. There’s a new sheriff in town.” Said LeBron, and even dug up some more history bringing up Barkley’s debt problems, and him spitting on a kid and one point in his life.
But for what??? LeBron, LeBron, please!! For the sake of the fans, and your team you’re better than this. This isn’t 2011-2012 this kind of attitude and immaturity is exactly what cost them a championship vs the Mavericks in his first year. You’re a champion now. Hell, you ran out of Cleveland to join another superstar in Dwayne Wade won back-to-back titles, and even when people weren’t satisfied he returned home to Cleveland, put the team on his back numerous times going to the finals back-to-back and won Cleveland’s first ever NBA Championship. Perhaps one of the better stories to happen in sports in recent memory, but this needs to stop.
Now of course this isn’t going to stop. If anything critics are going to talk even more now, and be more critical of LeBron James and how he handles his emotions, and if he can keep his team together as we get closer to the playoffs. Hopefully LeBron can see what he’s done wrong by throwing his organization under the bus as of late, and own up to the unwanted attention he’s caused. This is his time to shine, by blocking out the critics and doing what he does best, and that’s winning.
