Will Holden NFL Draft Profile
Size: 6’7 311lbs
- Body control
- Drive blocker
- Core strength
- Grip strength
Analysis: Will Holden is a three-year starter at Vanderbilt where he played both left and right tackle. He operates with adequate body control at the point of attack and in space. Efficient in his movement. Climbs to the second level and is patient before engaging. Has power in his push and can be an effective drive blocker in the running game. Technician who plays with good fundamentals to counter his athletic limitations. Very good core strength with an ability to anchor after an early bull rush. Can lock down pass rushers with his grip strength.
- Lacks quickness for blind side
- Short arms
- Heavy feet
- Struggles against elite edge speed
Analysis: Once Will Holden gets his hands on a defender it’ll be tough to shed, but if the defender has speed he can have a field day on Holden. Has some quickness limitations that will likely necessitate a move to the right side. Has short arms which affects his ability to re-direct pass rushers around the pocket once they get to his edge. Plays with relatively heavy feet and will struggle to mirror in space. Simply doesn’t have enough gain in his kick slide to handle edge speed. Had trouble shutting down tackle/end twists.
