Wonder Woman NON SPOILER Review
Wonder Woman non-spoiler review
There are 3 types of people out there, the people who need Wonder Woman to save the DCEU, the people who like the DCEU and want to see another good movie in the Universe, and the people who just want yet another entertaining comic book movie. Well I can say for a fact that this movie delivers for everyone of those people. So this is my Wonder Woman NON SPOILER Review.
I went into this movie with next to no expectation, and came out mind blown, I was truly amazed by it, even more so it made the flaws (a movie this big will have flaws) inconsequential.
I am going to make this review short, and sweet, and of course spoiler free.
First things first, the story, The story was beautiful, the telling of the story was done well, Patty Jenkins took a great story and put it together so that even in the darkest parts of this story, hope shone. Yes there is darkness in this, I mean come on this was set during World War 1, the worst times in human history, but the story shows, that love and hope will triumph. The story is also a very true origin in the sense that it is a discovery for Diana also, she is first discovering her powers, her purpose, and her true self, and the movie does that.
The characters, oh my goodness the characters, I’ll start with the characters on the Island of Themyscira, Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta was nothing short of amazing, Robin Wright as Antiope she was phenomenal, (I have a crush on Robin, so I just thought she was automatically the best thing on Themyscira).
Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, he was great, his dynamic with Gal was even more amazing. He is Diana’s first human interaction, and also her main connection to humanity, so she learns pretty much everything from Steve, and Chris delivers, even his comedic timing is perfect.
Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, SHE IS WONDER WOMAN, I mean we’ve had almost no iteration, since Lynda Cater, but it’s over because Gal is our Wonder Woman, she played the part of a naive Diana Prince, coming from the island paradise of Themyscira, with no understanding of what she was really getting into, and also with one clear mission in mind, END THE WAR. Gal was perfect at playing the whole fish out of water role, delivers the emotional scenes perfectly, she also is great in the action sequences, which leads me to my next point.
The Action, honestly the trailers, and most of the action sequences that we’ve seen online do not do this movie justice, even though this is not a high-octane action movies as other comic book movies, this movie has some of if not the best action sequences in a cape movie, and for all the disrespect she has gotten, whether it be her physique, or her not being able to act, Gal was the physical representation of a goddess, she killed those scenes, and the action was a huge plus.
This is a complete movie in every sense, this movie engages it’s audience at every point, when it asks you to feel, you will feel, when it asks you to cheer, you will cheer, this movie is full of hope, and joy, and has something for everyone, the casual movie goer, and even the hardcore comic book fan in all of us. This movie is really for every one, so if you were looking for someone to tell you to go see this movie well there you have it folks GO SEE WONDER WOMAN!!
I will rate this movie an 8.5/10,and I will be seeing it again.
