After an eight-day break for exams, the Bulldogs wrap up the 2018 portion of the schedule this week with a pair of games against MAAC opponents. Yale travels to Monmouth on Thursday for a 7 p.m. tip and then is back in the friendly confines of their home arena to host a Saturday matinee with Iona at 2 p.m. MFST will be covering both games.

The Bulldogs (5-3) are double-digit road favorites (-10) in this matchup and for good reason. Yale has wins over California and Miami this season and have won four of their last five coming in.

Monmouth (0-11) is still looking for their first win of the season.

MU is playing its first game in 12 days dating back to December 8th at Albany. This is the longest time off in season that an MU team has had in the King Rice era.

Yale, which leads the league in scoring offense, has a number of weapons. Three players average double figures in scoring, led by Miye Oni at 17.9 ppg. Jordan Bruner (11.5 ppg.) and Alex Copeland (10.6 ppg.) are the other double figure scorers, while Atkinson (9.8 ppg.), Blake Reynolds (9.5 ppg.), Azar Swain (9.1 ppg.) and Trey Phills (8.6 ppg.) all average at least 8.6 points.

Monmouth lacks playmakers, but has one in Ray Salnave. He has topped his career high in points and field goals made twice in Monmouth’s last two games. He netted 22 points on eight makes at Hofstra, before scoring 25 on nine makes at Albany. He also tied a career-mark in dishing out seven assists at Hofstra, netting the go-ahead bucket with just over 30 seconds remaining on a stop-and-start drive to the rim.
