With the New York Yankees being linked to almost every big name starter available via free agency or the trade market; Patrick Corbin (before signing with the Washington Nationals), Nathan Eovaldi (before signing with the Boston Redsox), Dallas Kecuhel, J.A. Happ, Madison Bumgarner (trade-SF Giants), Corey Kluber & Trevor Bauer (trade- CLE Indians). But how about under-the-radar trade targets? Let’s take a look at three options the Yankees should covet after subpar performance in 2018.

Alex Cobb (31)
With 3 years, $43 million remaining on his contract, Cobb underperformed in his first season with the Baltimore Orioles, finishing 5-15, with a 4.90 ERA. But Cobb is 31, and if the Orioles decide to add money to this deal, they could next back a younger prospect with upside
Potential Deal: 1B/3B Dermis Garcia, PTBNL
Danny Duffy (30*)
With 3 years, $45.75 million remaining on his contract and coming off an underwhelming season (8-12, 4.88 ERA), the rebuilding Royals could look to deal the southpaw as he may not fit their window (will play 2019 season at age-30). So why not call the Yankees, who were rumored to be interested in acquiring Duffy. The Yankees farm system is loaded with young pitching prospects, and depending how much of Duffy’s salary the Royals decide to eat could determine the prospect return.
Potential Deal: Royals send $ in deal- Top 20 prospect with upside RHP Freicier Perez, PTBNL. Royals send no $- Top 15 prospect IF Thairo Estrada
Michael Fulmer (26*)
Although Michael Fulmer, has a Rookie of the Year award under his belt (2016) where he posted a 3.06 ERA and is will start the season at age-26. He has regressed over the past 2 seasons where he logged a 3.83 ERA (2017) and 4.69 ERA (2018) for the Tigers.
Potential Deal: RHP Albert Abreu, RHP Domingo German, IF Tyler Wade, and RHP Luis Gil
